Beach

On Saturday at 5:46, our uncle was ready to come to our grandparents house. (And that was were we stayed for the holidays.) We packed our stuff for the beach and during we packed things my nana said "As soon as uncle (Au) comes, we go straight into the car" "OK nana" we replied with a smile on our faces.

"uncles here, uncles here" I shouted. We all rushed to the car and we were just waiting for my grandpa to get in the car because he was still packing his stuff. My nana hopped back out of the car and said to my grandpa "Come in the car now." And my papa replied with a big "ok."

As soon as my papa finished packing his things, we went to do my papa's lotto and then go to eastern beach. After my uncle took us to the beach he went back home and got the other people. When he got to eastern beach with the other guys we had to get out of the beach and the other people come in.

Zion (my sister) and me went in the beach and swam while my other 2 sisters and cousin were just sitting on the grass. Maypo (my youngest sister) and my cousin (Max) were collecting shells. I got out of the beach and told Maypo "come but is you don't then it was a waste of you to bring your clothes" so then she thought about it and came.

The other guys got here so then my nana shouted to us "come out now" so we listened and got out. We went for a a shower well not quite as a shower, more like a rinse but yes. I gave my hair a wash with the soap and then i washed my little sisters body and then mine. After we did our second to oldest Zion washed her one then we got changed and went and sat on a mat thing we bought.

The people who came second in the car, they brought fizzy drinks and bread. As we finished getting dried up we ate and the other guys went in the beach and we were drinking and eating. It was my sister (Cecilia), Aunty (Maa), Aunty (Lua), Aunty (Tala) and Uncle (Au the one who drove us the eastern beach) they were the ones who went in the beach second while we were eating.

After a while my Uncle texted to my mum to come to the beach so she did and she came with yummy scones. It was chocolate and carrot flavour. My 2 aunties and sister begged me to give them some scones so I ran to my nana and got some of them. So I threw it when they were in the sea but my sister just came and got it from my hand but I threw it to my aunties.

Then we had a happy day and went home.

Takeaway and taro

At 11:53 my uncle came and we went. My grandpa, nana, Maypo (my sister), and me hopped inside the car and off we went to buy takeaway and taro. So off we went and came back fast.

We had to come back home and I had to run to give my cousins takeaways. As soon as I got back in the car, we went quickly to my aunty and uncles place because my grandpa's appointment starts at 12:30.

I came out of the car and I ran and ate takeaway and taro with my aunty.

Family from Gisbourne

Holiday is so fun. Just met my uncle's family from Gisbourne. They are so so kind.  Some are tall and some are short. Fun to play with.Funny to look at. They always laugh and makes us laugh. They ALL look the SAME. And the only names Iknow is Nianae and Lika!

New Years is coming

New years is coming up and we are going to our Dad's family to celebrate it. We are going there because on Christmas we celebrated it with my Mum's family.

My Mum's family are going to do church at our cousins church house. They are also eating there, so that means they have to take spare clothes to eat in. We will go to out Dad's Mum's sisters place witch means my Dad's aunties place and do a long pray and then we do a pray for the food. And after all those praying things we start to eat.

It will be a lot of fun because our cousins will be there and a lot of other people we sort of not know much.

Water Sliding and Swimming in the Hose

Yesterday we went to buy things for my Nana and Grandpa. As soon as we came back home my aunties and uncle asked me, "do you want to play in the hose and water slide with the mats we came with?" I replied "YES YES YES." So they got out the hose and the slippery mat.

They called us to go outside. So we did and my 3 cousins, my sister and me were so happy. I was going first so we got soap and put it around our body so we slide until we get to the end.

My uncle told me to get my little cousin to go in the hose and put soap on him and make him slide, so I did but then he cried. He went inside because his mum said so, so he can have a warm shower.

We still stayed outside and after 30 minute we go inside. 30 minutes later we got our towels, dried up ourselves and go for a warm shower. So the kids all showered and they were still happy about what happened before.

Prize Giving

Last night on the 13th of December was prize giving. The day before was when I knew I was going to get a prize, but I did not know how many prizes I would get. As soon as I got there, it was going to start in about 8 minutes.

8 minutes later it started and Mr Burt (our principle) was waiting for us to be quiet. We all were silent and Mr Burt started to talk to us about our korero for the night. Some I know and some I don’t. He showed things on the screen like about our art, our writing that we improved and how we got heaps of money because of our parents.

I was sitting and sitting until he finished talking and I heard “its time to give out year 5’s awards” Mr Burt shouted. So he started off with calling the first name and it was Sela for best effort. “Jordan Alofi for citizenship and also for 100% attendance” Mr Burt said as Jordan was walking on the stage. Then Jordan shook Miss Teleso’s hand. “And also Iron Talia for 100% attendance” Our principle called while getting ready to call the next persons name.

I stood up with a surprise on my face and walked on the red carpet. And I went to get my certificate and shook Miss Teleso’s hand and she whispered “Well done” to me. So I walked towards my class mates and stood next to them, that was my first prize. As soon as my family saw me, they got off their chairs, got the lolly necklaces and gave it to me on the stage.

My nana, aunt, mum and brother came to give it to me. I bent down low so they can put it on my neck. My little brother came on the stage to give it to me because he could not reach, so he put it on me and I gave him a kiss.

My aunty said “Iron” and I heard so I saw the camera and I knew I was going to take a picture so I smiled. As I finished taking my picture, Mr Burt said “turn around and stand a bit longer so they can take some pictures” so we did and then we went off the stage.

“Next thing for year 5 is Academic” Mr Burt shouted. “Drumroll please.......stop in 3rd place is Iron Talia” “Drumroll please.......stop in 2nd place is Jordenne Eteuati” “Drumroll please.......stop in 1st place is Iisa Salie” Mr Burt shouted. And everybody cheered for all of us.

We went and got it and Mr Burt said “turn around and stand a bit longer so they can take some pictures” so we did it again.
