At Rugby School they played football. Players are allowed to hold the ball, but not run with it. There was no fixed limit of players. any number of players can play on the field. this caused lots of major injuries. William ran with the ball in 1823 towards the opposition’s goal. In 1845 Rugby School wrote the first set the rules for rugby.
