Kandinsky studied economics and law at the University of Moscow before he became a professor. 3 years later at the age of 30 he moved to Munich, Germany and studied art. Initially he was interested in creating sketches of human bodies.

Once the 1st World War started in 1914,Wassily Kandinsky was in Germany and moved to Switzerland and then home to Moscow.  At this time he mostly created impressionist artwork and continued using colours.
